The Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum features multiple exhibition galleries, a community room, archives and collections storage. It also incorporates the original Village Hall, a former one-room school house moved to the site and expanded in 1895.

Chakra Balancing Sound Meditation with Laced in Harmony
Join Brittney of Laced in Harmony at Trillium Yoga Studio for a Chakra Balancing Sound Meditation.
In this session, Brittney will guide you through a meditation, clearing and balancing each chakra with specific frequencies and breathing techniques. After the guided meditation, Brittney will transition in to blissful soundscapes to give you time to relax and drift wherever your spirit needs to go.

Join Trillium Yoga for an afternoon of good energy and good vibes. Relax while Kristin uses different techniques to cleanse any stagnant energy that may cause emotional or physical distress. Chicago Roller Skating History
Roll down memory lane with author and roller skating historian Marcie Hill as she shares the fascinating, 140-year story of roller skating in Chicago. From the very first rink in the 1880s to Chicago’s unique place in skating culture, Hill highlights the city’s role in this enduring pastime. Whether you skated every weekend or never set foot on a rink, this program is both a history lesson and a celebration.

Do you want to have a fun night with your friends at a Getting Loopy With Dawn workshop? An opportunity awaits your for individuals age 12 and up!
Chunky knit workshops are perfect for beginners or experienced knitters! You’ll have the opportunity to make blankets with just your hands. Everyone leaves with a cozy new blanket in a blanket bag and a new skill. After the workshop you also get emailed instructions and yarn buying tips for future projects.

Pages of History: Lincoln in the Bardo
The Pages of History book-inspired lecture series is back for USA 250!
Historian and author Dr. Christian McWhirter will join the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum via video call and will explore Abraham Lincoln’s grief after he lost his son, Willie, while serving in office.
This year's books are chosen in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Presenters are invited to take the audience beyond the books to discuss history or contemporary topics within the stories.

Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

1619: The Journey of a People: A Musical

As part of the USA 250 events, the College of Lake County James Lumber Center of the Performing Arts presents a musical production commemorating the struggle for equality and celebrating the story of America’s Africans sons and daughters.

In 2026, the Grayslake Historical Society proudly celebrates 50 years of preserving local history. This special exhibit highlights the stories and artifacts collected over five decades.

Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

Song Circle at The Lake County Folk Club
The Lake County Folk Club will host their monthly Song Circle beginning at 6:30 pm.
Come out to play or just listen. Members and non-members are always welcome. One of their friendly hosts will keep the ball rolling.
This is a casual, no pressure opportunity to kick back, play some music and meet others. The participants form a circle, and each one in turn can choose to play a song or politely pass. It’s a chance to lead songs or to join in with others. They keep moving around the circle until it’s time to call it a night.

1619: The Journey of a People: A Musical
Due to extreme cold on January 23rd, this event has been cancelled and postponed to Friday, February 13th.
As part of the USA 250 events, the College of Lake County James Lumber Center of the Performing Arts presents a musical production commemorating the struggle for equality and celebrating the story of America’s Africans sons and daughters.
Note, this program is located outside of the Village Center. Thank you to the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum and the James Lumber Center for this collaboration.

Blues and Roots Duo, Joe Filisko and Eric Noden are masters of harmonica and guitar styles instrumental in shaping early and prewar blues. Their jaw-dropping virtuosity enables them to create more layers of sound and feeling than most bands. The result—in their shows and recordings—is powerful and sophisticatedly subtle performances. They are also historians and teachers dedicated to sharing this rich musical tradition and passing it along to future generations.
