The Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum features multiple exhibition galleries, a community room, archives and collections storage. It also incorporates the original Village Hall, a former one-room school house moved to the site and expanded in 1895.

They more easily fall into anarchy or tyranny if certain safeguards are not maintained, and it was up to the citizens to be on guard. What did they think we should guard against? Does their advice hold any wisdom for us today? Come to the Grayslake Area Public Library and consider these questions with historian Joyce Haworth.

Candles & Cannolis Workshop
Candles and cannolis come together for a cozy, hands-on workshop at Romney Brown Candle Company in downtown Grayslake. Guests will create a custom candle using their Wall of Scents, blending fragrances to design something completely their own.
After candle pouring, the experience continues with a guided cannoli workshop where guests will fill and decorate three cannolis with a mix of classic and creative flavors.

Chakra Alignment Sound Bath with Laced in Harmony
Join Brittney Lace of Laced in Harmony as she guides you through a meditation, clearing and balancing of each chakra with specific frequencies and breathing techniques. After the guided meditation, Brittney will transition in to blissful soundscapes to give time to relax and drift wherever your spirit needs to go. No experience necessary. Please bring a pillow, blanket, eye mask (optional) and dress in layers. You may bring any crystals you would like charged during this practice.

Song Circle at The Lake County Folk Club
The Lake County Folk Club will host their monthly Song Circle beginning at 6:30 pm.
Come out to play or just listen. Members and non-members are always welcome. One of their friendly hosts will keep the ball rolling.
This is a casual, no pressure opportunity to kick back, play some music and meet others. The participants form a circle, and each one in turn can choose to play a song or politely pass. It’s a chance to lead songs or to join in with others. They keep moving around the circle until it’s time to call it a night.

Search & Share Genealogy: Where were your ancestors 250 years ago?
Search and Share Genealogy takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. Share your genealogy triumphs and stumbling blocks with the Grayslake Historical Society. This discussion group is for all levels of experience in doing family history research. The research can be on a local or international level.
In connection to the USA 250 celebrations and events, this session will focus on “Where were you ancestors 250 years ago?”
Free and open to all levels of family history seekers.

Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

Each month, Andy’s Records will gather to listen to and dissect a selected vinyl album with a group of like-minded music lovers over snacks and drinks (BYOB). They encourage you to listen in any way you can ahead of the meeting and be prepared to participate in a casual discussion about the album. Grayslake Historical Society Reminisce Program: Tree Island
Participants will learn and reminisce about Tree Island - a subdivision now, but once a dirt pile left by a developer whose dream failed.
The kids of Grayslake used it for fun, depending on their age and interests, serving as a memorable place where the kids could “push the limits”.
Barn Quilts: A Mosaic of Color
Create a colorful barn quilt inspired by mosaic art in this family-friendly drop-in workshop! Families can work together to design and paint a bold pattern on a wooden panel, with all supplies provided. Each family will make one barn quilt (while supplies last). Children under 6 can enjoy age-appropriate crafting activities. Registration not required, just drop in and create!

This summer, we’re celebrating our nation’s 250th anniversary with films that capture the spirit of adventure, rebellion, and heroism.
Jump to hyperspace for a stellar outdoor showing of "Star Wars: A New Hope."
Grab your favorite food from Grayslake restaurants, rescue your crew, and bring your chairs or cozy blankets to the corner of Whitney and Hawley for a FREE movie under the stars.
The screening begins at dusk. Jedi robes or Imperial officer uniforms are not mandatory but highly encouraged.
Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

Beginner Sewing: Patriotic Table Topper
The Grayslake Area Public Library invites you to learn how to use a sewing machine and create a simple quilted table topper! Participants ages 14-18 need a signed parent waiver. A $3.00 material fee is required at the beginning of class.

Your to-do list called… it wants a beer. Stop letting your life admin pile up. Join Beer Bazaar for Mundane Mondays: The Admin Club — a laid-back, productive hang where getting things done finally feels… doable.
This isn’t a workshop or seminar. It’s a body-doubling session, where the taproom becomes your favorite third space to tackle real-life to-dos. Emails, appointments, taxes/bills, forms you’ve been avoiding — bring it all. You bring your laptop + to-do list; they’ll bring the high-speed Wi-Fi, chill beats, and the perfect craft pour.
Bonus: Sam will be there with all the materials you need to start (or keep going with) your 2026 planner/journal.
Decades of Stories: Tales, Tunes, & Treats - 70s
Let the sunshine in at the Grayslake Area Public Library’s 70s storytime! Embrace your inner flower child by making your own flower crown, getting your face painted with far-out designs, and enjoying tunes from the era. It’s all about peace, creativity, and good vibes—come celebrate the spirit of the 70s with us!
This program is for families, age 10 and under.
Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.
Pride Parade After Party
Join Beer Bazaar for the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 14th at 12 pm and/or also come to the After Party at 1 pm following the parade! Enjoy drinks, vinyls, and friends on a day filled with love and inclusion!
6th annual Grayslake Pride Parade
Join the community and celebrate love and inclusion at the sixth annual Grayslake Pride Parade hosted by the Better Together Project. This is a family-friendly parade that kicks off at Hawley St and Slusser St continues onto Center St and Seymour Ave and comes to an end back at Slusser.
There’s great viewing spots all around the route! Enjoy music from a local DJ, celebrate the community, and cheer on the participants!

Vinyl Sundays
Join Beer Bazaar for Vinyl Sundays. Their staff will be spinning records for your enjoyment. Come hang with some friends while drinking a cold one. When you bring a vinyl to listen to, you’ll get a $1 off any size pour!
